Overview of HIV/AIDS

Objectives: Identify methods of HIV transmission and infection. Recognize the symptoms of AIDS. Describe the medications and treatments available for older adults living with HIV/AIDS. Provide the home care required for an older adult living with HIV/AIDS. Description: This class gives caregivers an overview of HIV infections and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). In this class, we discuss how to care for an older adult with HIV/AIDS, including considerations for the client’s safety, health management, and nutrition.
