Australian Gold Nugget and Mandarin Garnet Earring

This one-of-a-kind jewel is composed of a pair of cabochon mandarin garnets suspending a pair of Australian gold nuggets. We hand matched these extraordinary elements to enhance the organic beauty of the natural materials. The bezel-set rounded form of the mandarin garnets balances the convex shape of the nuggets and both pieces are filled with warmth and light. Nuggets are formed from molten gold left after a volcanic eruption and years of tumbling in water. Accounting for less than two percent of gold and rarer than diamonds, gold nuggets are increasingly hard to find.
