Nikka Pure Malt Japanese Whisky 12 Year Old is a blended malt named in honor of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. He is the first Japanese person to master whisky-making in Scotland and produce the genuine whisky in Japan. Masataka's vision of whisky was formed by his experience in Scotland, where he learned that the rich resources surrounding the distillery were essential for whisky-making. Based on this thought, he selected two places, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built two distilleries there.
