The Scrunchie Bag Knitting Class - 9/13
The Scrunchie Bag is a fun and functional knit accessory that can be worn as a shoulder bag or scrunched up and carried on the wrist. Worked flat in two-row stripes, the bag features a clever built-in I-cord channel for the handle, giving it its signature gathered shape. The simple construction makes it a great project for experimenting with bold color combinations or texture pairings. We will cover the entire process from casting on and working clean color changes to creating the I-cord handle channel and seaming the bag together. You’ll leave class with the skills and confidence to complete your own stylish scrunchie bag. The body of the bag is worked flat in two-color stripes, carrying the unused yarn neatly up the edge. Midway through, stitches are transferred to create a 6-stitch I-cord channel for the handle. Once the fabric is complete, the sides are seamed and the cord is threaded through the channel to cinch the bag into its scrunchie shape. Instructor: Hayley Carney Class Da
