The hammock is 12 inches wide and 17-19 inches long. 4 complimentary gold cup hooks are included for instant hanging. In the photo where you can see both hammocks, the hammock on the left is 17 inches long and the dowels are hung 13 inches apart. The hammock on the right is 19 inches long and the hammocks are hung 14 inches apart. How close or far you choose to hang the dowels from each other will determine how much fruit the hammock can hold. If you aren't comfortable using the included cup hooks, other buyers have had success using Command Hooks (not included). This top seller is handmade with 5mm natural (off white) cotton rope purchased from a woman owned small business. The rope is firm and will not stretch much. The hammock can be spot treated to clean.
