The solid block of wood is threaded on a rope, which two spectators hold firmly between them. The block is kept in plain sight, no covering, as the performer grasps it. He slides it back and forth on the taut rope. Suddenly the block penetrates the rope in full view and falls free- performer catches it as it falls!
