Devil's Hank - Trick

A Devil's Hank is a great utility device used to make small objects vanish and reappear when needed. You display the handkerchief on both sides, showing there's nothing out of the ordinary. You put all four corners together, turning the hanky into a bag of sorts. The magician can then drop something inside of this makeshift bag. The audience can see the fabric drop at the bottom of the bag, as the object is dropped inside - an unmistakable sign that the object now safely inside. In an instant the magician can let go of 3 corners of the handkerchief, showing the object inside to be gone. To (re)produce an object, the steps are repeated backwards. Display the plain cloth, put the 4 corners together, reach inside and produce an object. As with most of these props, the quality of the fabric, the experience of the seamstress and the skill of the magician will all contribute to the mystery when performing with this prop.
