08/18-08/22 Opening Traps

10:30am-1:00pm ET, 1:30pm - 4:00pm ET8/18/2025-8/22/2025 All Skill levels, from beginners to strong tournament players are welcome! Opening Traps There’s nothing worse than losing a chess game because you fell into a sneaky opening trap.  Don’t worry, our camp will teach you how to survive the opening by avoiding the most common traps.  We don’t encourage sneakiness but you might like to use some of these traps too!  Beginners will look at traps to reinforce what they are learning about basic tactics and opening principles, like king safety.  Advanced students will learn to recognize traps associated with specific openings and will learn to recognize the patterns underlying the traps.
