Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust. Many gemstones, such as amethyst, rose quartz, and citrine, are quartz varieties that have trace amounts of other elements within their crystalline structure. These trace elements produce the variety of colors that we see in quartz.  According to the most recent research, the color of rose quartz can be attributed to microscopic inclusions of a fibrous rose-colored mineral closely related to dumortierite. This particular crushed rose quartz is from Namibia and is grade A material. Our coarse material is considered to be pea- sized gravel, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters.
