Jade and Gold Drop Earrings

They are comprised of a round, light green jade cabochon set in a gold post, with a secondary element - an elongated, matching jade drop set in a zigzag golden cap - balancing below a doubled gold ring. Jade is a mineral known for its excellent toughness (resistance to breakage) due to its structure composed of interlocking small crystals. This pair of earrings is fashioned from jadeite, which is a variety of jade. The post and setting are 14 karat gold and come with 14k friction backs.
