a sterling silver lemon fork made by Frank M. Whiting. The fork is decorated with beautiful raised tiger lilies. According to internet research the pattern is unnamed but was designed by Harry A. Malinowski in 1946. The fork is marked with “Frank Whiting” and “STERLING.” The Frank M. Whiting & Co. was founded in 1878 in North Attleboro, Mass., by the son of William Whiting, the founder of the Whiting Manufacturing Co. In 1897 the company was incorporated. Later it was purchased by the Ellmore Silver Company of Meriden, CT, circa 1940. Their line included sterling silver flatware, holloware, novelties, souvenir spoons, and baby goods. This lemon fork is NOT monogrammed. It is in good estate condition, although with the patina of old tarnish and fine scratches to be expected with age and use.
