Anahulu Bridge (sold)

In the summer mornings the sun rises behind the Anahulu Bridge in Haleiwa and back lighting brings it to life.  Our visitors call this the rainbow bridge. I love this perspective.  Even though the painting angle is bit strange while standing tightly between a large hedge and the marina road, I think it is the best angle to paint from in the Summer mornings! Original (40" x 30" Oil on Canvas), in one of Howard's custom made mahogany frames. This painting was done "Plein Air," which means outside, on location.  While doing Plein Air, one must capture the essence of each scene quickly as everything the artist sees from color to shadows changes.
