Why We Gather

COVID-19 has changed our world forever; some for the good and some for the bad. When it comes to the church, COVID-19 has impacted us tremendously as we were forced to go to cyberspace (social media) and use technology to connect with our congregations like never before. As a result of almost 18 months or more, the majority of churches have been without in-person worship. While it only takes 21 days to develop a habit, just imagine what has happen with spiritual practices after a temporary disconnect from physical worship. Statistical research suggests that one-third of our churches have closed, and only 40% are returning to in-person worship. Nearly 33% are opting for online church from this point on, and many who don’t subscribe to online church have changed their attitudes concerning the importance of in-person worship.
