King's Family Distilling - Scotch Finish Whiskey

A scotch for bourbon drinkers. The Kings love all things whiskey, but we are admittedly novices in the scotch world. That being said, Justin and Cara have both taken to listening to scotch drinkers about what they like in a scotch. A little bit of smoke and peat seemed to be the predominant features the average scotch connoisseur would seek in a blend - and thus, the scotch barrel finish concept was born. We take a 6 year old American Light whiskey and transfer it to a scotch barrel from the Islay region, letting it rest until it tastes just right. Notes: Sweet butterscotch and caramel on the front, like an American whiskey, with peat and smoke on the finish make up the flavor profile, and it is something delightfully unusual to impress even the most avid bourbon drinker.
