Free shipping STAIN – The flag is hand-stained (not painted) with a custom color from Varathane, which really helps to bring out the burned wood grain.   BACKING – We use backing strips from top to bottom to ensure everything remains tightly in place. The stripes are glued and clamped tight. Then the backing strips are nailed using a brad nailer, every stripe gets two nails per backing strip to ensure the flag stays together.   HANGING - On the back of the flag we use metal hanging wire for and easy installation but just using a screw or nail. Each nail or screw should set into a stud or a wall anchor for maximum strength. It also makes it very easy to level.This flag is near and dear to my heart as I served in the USCG for 4 years on the Cape at Station Woods Hole. My wife and I were also married on the Cape and spend a lot of time with our daughter at her parents house as well.
