© John Zaccheo About the ArtistJohn Zaccheo is known for his vibrant paintings of Mediterranean seaports, and his alluring flower gardens and country settings. He is a master at using a brush and a palette knife; each stroke creating color and form that explodes on canvas and captivates the viewer. Born in Kingston, New York, John earned a degree at Dutchess College and Syracuse University, and a gold medal for outstanding achievements in fine arts. After earning his degrees, John enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he completed two world tours and a tour of duty in Vietnam. After his Honorable Discharge, John continued his studies at the Art Student League in New York, before going to Europe and Japan to study painting and sculpture under great artists and sculptors like Arthur Lidov, John Pike, Robert Benny, David Lax, Joseph Hirsch, Leslie Ross and Lewis Krevolin.
