Emulation Series - GPM 45-1796 MK II
What the Metro-Plex MK II is to 1968 Superlead tones... The GPM 45-1796 MK II is to my very unique 1966 JTM 45 tones. I went back to the input jack and started from scratch. All of the quirks of the original JTM 45 serial # 1796 are faithfully retained in the GPM. Including the hybrid LEAD/BASS tonestack with uses a 560pF capacitor where most JTM's have a 250pF. The authentic preamp feeds into my new emulation circuit, which captures and recreates the frequency response, clipping and harmonics of the original phase inverter and power amp. This allows pure JTM 45 tone at any volume. For optimal plexi cleans as well as early plexi overdrive, I included a 3 way "bright switch". Options are: no bright cap, 100pF or 560pF. Offering a range of plexi tones that even my original JTM 45 can't match. This amp gets it's name from the original. I zoomed into a high res pic of the original serial number and traced it. The quirky letters and numbers are faithfully recreated in the GPM
