Hand Crafted Artisan Fish Buckle by Mark Goodwin

All buckles are a neat marriage of 3 to 5 recycled USA metals. Each buckle is made with hand tools, and will be hallmarked by Mark. It is 2.25 inches diameter, and fits belts up to 1.5 inches wide. Hand Embossed Sport Fish Buckle The process starts with sheets of metal. A fish shape is hand formed by gently bending, stretching, and raising the pewter from underneath. Then, acid is used to darken the flat field that surrounds the fish. Next, the shaped pewter is soldered onto cartridge brass to which nickel attachments have previously been soldered. After sawing, filing and sanding, the assembled buckle is polished in stainless steel shot. Then the buckle is coated with warm turpentine and beeswax, dried, and buffed with a soft cloth.
