Introduction to Wax Carving Jewelry | November 5-6

Schedule: Tuesday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm                     Wednesday 11:00 am -5:00 pm Class Overview: The perfect two day course for those looking to dive into the world of wax carving for jewelry making. On the first day you’ll learn about essential tools and safety, practice simple carving techniques, textures, and begin designing and shaping a signet ring; if you already have a design in mind I’m happy to deviate from the signet ring and help guide you in what you’re hoping to achieve. There’s no stone setting involved in this class as that will be available in more advanced classes. The second day focuses on refining your work, exploring the build up method (adding wax to create volume), and the proper way to prepare your ring for casting.  Your rings will be cast in sterling silver (up to 10g of silver) and mailed to you within 20 business days; you’ll then finish it at home by cutting off the sprue and polishing your new baby.
