Osbert, The Beekeeper Gnome (RETIRED)

This gnome's name is Osbert.  Like his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he cares for the bees.  Osbert is 212 years old with a young family of his own.  Soon he will begin passing down the ancient knowledge of caring for the bees. Osbert wears a yellow coat, which helps camouflage him as he spends lots of time amongst the flowers. Osbert speaks the language of the bees, and during warm months he is their constant friend and companion. From time to time, bees lose their hive, and sometimes their queen.  Osbert watches all hives in the immediate area and is ready to guide any misplaced queen bees to a safe spot in a hollow tree or log when necessary.  He also watches for changes in the health of each colony, ready to assist with natural remedies (usually wild fungi or mushrooms) at the first sign of illness.  Of course, bees can take care of themselves, but man's ever-encroaching homes and factories often threaten the health of bee colonies.  Osbert knows his job is an importa
