
NANCY WICKHAM TABLE LAMP FOR DESIGN TECHNICS
This petite stoneware studio pottery lamp with incised and textured horizontally striated pattern was produced by noted Vermont potter Nancy Wickham (Boyd) for Design Technics. The shade, while not original, echoes the striations on the body of the lamp perfectly. The lamp's dimensions are 12" (to the top of the socket) by 4.5" in diameter at its widest point. The shade by itself measures 7" tall by 10" in diameter. It is currently fitted with a clip which attaches directly to a standard type A light bulb. Assembled, the lamp and shade together measure 17" in height. NANCY WICKHAM was a Vermont based ceramics artist and potter. She studied her craft at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, New York, in the mid 1940s, and subsequently established a studio and shop in Woodstock, Vermont, where she produced mainly functional ceramics.
