Shanghai Bookcase by Alivar – Sculptural Italian Design Designed by Giuseppe Bavuso for Alivar, the Shanghai Bookcase is a bold, sculptural statement piece that combines form and function. Inspired by architectural rhythms and modernist aesthetics, Shanghai features a modular grid of vertical and horizontal planes — simultaneously minimal and dynamic. Its lacquered MDF or oak finish and internal Baydur® polyurethane frame give it both durability and distinctive style. Ideal as a freestanding room divider, wall unit, or feature piece, Shanghai transforms books and objects into a curated composition. LSH1 & LSH3 has inner shelves in MDF covered in HD Light Cement “French grey colour”. External frame in heat-treated or black-stained oak or in MDF. Inner frame in Baydur rigid structural Polyurethane obtained by a steel mould, covered in grey spatulated concrete or matt painted as per our wood samples card.
