
A Summary Of The Gospel Of Jesus Christ
The gospel (or good news) that Jesus of Nazareth proclaimed is that God loves everyone and offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus as the Christ (or Messiah) who was foretold in the Old Testament.1 (Both Christ and Messiah mean “anointed one”, i.e., King.)But the good news is predicated on some bad news: according to the Holy Bible, we are all sinners who have disobeyed God’s commands and have not lived up to our Creator’s standards of holiness.2 We therefore deserve the punishment of eternal separation from God, which is spiritual death.3 Examples of sins that we have committed are (1) failing to love God with our whole heart and (2) not loving our neighbors as ourselves.4But the good news is that through Jesus Christ we can be reconciled to God, become God’s children, and live forever in His blissful and glorious heavenly kingdom.5 God will grant us this salvation if we repent of our sins and place our faith in Jesus as the Ch
