
Do You Need Some Good News? (ESV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) First, the bad news… We were created by God to live our lives in a relationship with Him, glorifying and enjoying Him forever. But our sin (the wrong things we do and right things we fail to do) prevents us from having the relationship with God for which we were created. God is perfect and holy and must remain separate from sin. There is nothing we can do on our own to remove sin from our lives and restore a right relationship with God. The penalty for our sin is death, physical and spiritual, and eternal separation from God in torment. Now, the good news… God loves people so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. He was born of a virgin and walked the earth as fully God and fully man. He lived the perfect life that we could never live. Then, He died on a cross in order to pay the penalty for sin that we deserve. On the thi
