Sincere But Not Safe (KJV)

A motorist entered Interstate 70 in Kansas intending to go west. In the early morning fog he was disoriented, and had taken the approach he sincerely believed to be the right one. However, after traveling a short distance he saw headlights coming straight at him through the fog. Quickly swerving to the side of the road, he slammed on his brakes and muttered to himself, “What’s that crazy driver doing?” While he sat along the side of the road, more and more cars passed by, and he began to realize that he was the “crazy driver!” Though he was sincere in believing he was headed west, in reality he was going east in the westbound lane! Your philosophy about spiritual matters might make you like this well-meaning driver. You may honestly believe that you are going the right way, but if you are headed in the wrong direction, it does not matter how sincere you are.
