Apple Butter

I read once that Oprah Winfrey told her viewers that one of her secrets to weight loss was replacing butter on her toast each morning with apple butter!  Maybe take that advice with a grain of salt, but what more of an endorsement do you need?  Our Apple Butter is our bestselling jam.  We begin making it as soon as apple harvest starts up in early September, using apples from Deal Orchards out in Taylorsville.  We cook the apples down with brown sugar and fall spices, and keep cooking and cooking until they are down right jammy.
