Keltyk Sweetbay Magnolia is a mid-sized evergreen tree with an upright habit and uniquely fine textured foliage with silvery undersides that lends to an almost fluffy appearance. Its large sweetly fragrant white flowers bloom in abundance from from late spring into summer. Best color in full sun and moist, slightly-acidic, well-drained soil. Tolerates both drought and wet soils. Magnolia virginiana is a host plant for the Tiger, Spicebush, and Palamedes Swallowtail butterflies as well as the Sweetbay Silkmoth.
