Cedrus brevifolia Rare Conifer - Cyprus Cedar Cedrus lebani ssp. brevifolia  Zones 6-8 Cedrus libani ssp. brevifolia is fairly uncommon cedar in the nursery trade. Natively it can be found on the island of Cyprus. The needles are much shorter than other species, giving this cedar a more dense and textured appearance. It develops an upright layered habit, creating an umbrella-like crown over time.
