Disanthus cercidifolius 'Rikyu' Dwarf Upright Japanese Redbud Hazel Zones 5-9 Part Sun/Full Sun   'Rikyu’ is a dwarf compact upright form of Disanthus from Japan that was given to an American nurseryman by Mr. Yamaguchi. The growth of heart shaped leaves becomes more clustered over time. While this photo doesn’t do it justice, think of a ‘Shishigashira’ form of Disanthus. The leaves get a blue-green color to them and are fairly wavy. ‘Rikyu’ may reach 4 ft in height in 10 years.
