A more floral if slightly oakier nose reflects layered aromas of black pinot fruit, earth and a pretty array of spice elements. There is again fine volume to the seductively textured and suave medium weight plus flavors that possess an abundance of tannin-buffering dry extract on the complex, long and youthfully austere finale. This very firmly structured effort is going to require at least moderate patience. As an aside, I sometimes prefer the Ile de Vergelesses chez Rapet but in 2022, the Corton is clearly the class of the range. 93 Pts Burghound
