RIAA Gold Album Award for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers album Into The Great Wide Open, which was released on July 2, 1991. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on Sept. 6, 1991 for 500,000 copies sold. Remember Tom Petty (1950-2017) with this award. Produced by Petty and ELO's Jeff Lynne, the album went to #13 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #3 on the UK Albums chart. The single "Learning To Fly" reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks while the title track hit #4 on the Album Rock Tracks chart. The album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum for two million sold in 2000.
