Wisconsin: The Badger State

Wisconsin, known as The Badger State, originally referred to the lead miners of the 1820s who lived like badgers in tunnels dug into hillsides. Today, the state is synonymous with cheese and dairy farming, reflecting its strong agricultural tradition.
