The entire piece is sealed with two layers of matte varnish to help protect the paint and wood over time.  The blue kyanite crystal and preserved mosses are attached with a strong adhesive and put through several tests to ensure they are securely attached.  CARE: Do not get wet or leave outdoors. If dusty, use a dry cloth/paper towel or brush. If dirty, use a very small amount of water on a cloth or paper towel and lightly work the dirt off the piece.
