This blade is an as forged Santoku. I started thicker and have a slower taper on the blade,making it hefty compared to my normal chef knives. The balance is about an inch forward of the heel, The spine is 0.14(~9/64) at it s thickest. the heel height Is around 2 1/4" or so. The steel is the real fun part. This is a hand forged stainless blade, and with the correct heat treat regimen it performs as well as my normal stainless blades.The handle is dark maple burl, purple hackberry and blue richlite
