Splendida Agave

Agave lophantha' Splendida' Agave lophantha, fondly known as the Thornquist century plant, slowly grows to about 2 feet in diameter and reaches heights of 2 to 3 feet. This lovely plant can brighten up partially shaded areas, serving as a stunning focal point in your desert garden or even as a charming barrier. Its saw-like flat leaves emerge from a dense rosette base, spiraling outward in an eye-catching display. The foliage showcases a variety of colors depending on the cultivar. For instance, the 'quadricolor' variety features rich dark green leaves adorned with sunny yellow edges and a soft pale green stripe down the middle, beautifully accented by dark red teeth along the sides.   Though it takes a few years for this plant to bloom, it rewards you with lovely greenish-yellow flowers on a stalk that can soar up to 12 feet tall! Like most Agaves, each plant flowers just once before it gracefully fades away; however, don’t worry, as numerous adorable “pups" sprout around the base, en
