Firecracker Penstemon

Penstemon eatonii Commonly referred to as Firecracker Penstemon or Eaton's Beardtongue, this perennial showcases vibrant scarlet red tubular flowers that draw in hummingbirds during the spring and summer months. The plant features resilient green leaves and purplish stems. It is indigenous to the western United States, ranging from California to the Rocky Mountains, where it thrives in a variety of habitats including deserts, woodlands, forests, and open plateaus. This species is particularly well-suited for rock gardens, deserts, and valley interiors. Additionally, it is resistant to deer and well-equipped to endure drought conditions.
