Smaller sized landing net with Uniquely shaped handle
I was asked to make a net for fishing small waters with a Tenkara rod. The customer had seen a net, that another fisherman carried and wanted something similar. Working from a picture this net was a collaboration that followed his vision. Most of the time when I make a unique style I will make at least one additional net as I work out the shape and technical problems. A major challenge was selecting the wood for the handle. I found this piece of ash from an area of the tree where it branched. I loved the grain and the combination with the dark walnut frame. I also made second net with a different color palette that the fisherman choose. This landing net measures 16 inches in length with a 6 inch handle and a 10 x 8.5 inch hoop (32 inch circumference.) This net is signed and numbered. All my nets are finished with a unique epoxy finish. They have a custom shop made brass eye for attaching the net to your vest or belt.
