In the more recent years the tour has expanded into, hip-hop, EDM and even Americana. In 1994 founder, Kevin Lyman, presented the first Warped show in his back yard, for the surf/skate community, headlined by reggae/ska legends; Fishbone. True to its roots the tour still provides, a half pipe for skaters and bikers as well as an array of vendors from clothing, record labels and bands to food, charities and radio stations. The tour is structured in such a way that the artists and bands are able to have unique interaction with concert goers and meet with the fans and sign autographs at their tent.
