Project Carbon® Forged Nickel-Aluminum 10L1000 Outer Drive Shell:      Welcome to the most durable 10L1000 outer drive shell upgrade on the market. This is the upgraded shell used in all of our built 10-Speed Allison transmissions, and we are proud to now offer it individually. When we designed this upgraded shell, we were faced with a huge challenge. On one hand, we had to offer an upgrade that isn’t made of steel as steel is magnetically reactive and would likely confuse the speed sensors.      Yet, we could not CNC machine because of its shape and complexity - it would simply cost far too much. Unlike other “upgraded” shells on the market, this is not just a simple OEM shell with a color-changing anodization that yields no meaningful durability benefit. This product is a complete remastering of this problematic component.
