Dolomite is a calcium carbonate-like material whose chemical name is calcium magnesium carbonate. They are both used in ceramics and as fillers in resins, although calcium carbonate is used much more often than dolomite for that purpose. Calcium carbonate as a resin filler yields a fairly white, opaque blend. This dolomite as a resin filler yields a light to medium semi-translucent tan.
