This is a kaolin not intended for ceramics, but for smooth ground surfaces on paper for printing or on other surfaces for painting. It is noticeably a finer ground clay, very smooth, and very free flowing in contrast to most ceramic kaolins. That may be a function of smaller particles. It may also have some unspecified additives to make it non-clumping. You've probably heard of 'Coated Papers', this would be the major ingredient in the coating and also what makes coated papers weigh much more.It is also used in bole clay mixtures for gilding on wood surfaces.
