Veegum T is an extremely plastic, hydrous magnesium silicate that has several uses. It's not a "gum" in the sense that gum arabic, xanthan, or CMC gum is. Used in ceramics the main use is to give plasticity to non-plastic or low plasticity clay bodies. It's similar in this way to macaloid, hectalite (refined hectorite), and specific bentonites. It's the "secret" ingredient to very translucent and plastic porcelain clays like Southern Ice, Laguna Frost, NZ6, and other new ones.
