Nassau Grouper Pendant

The Nassau Grouper "Epinephelus striatus" pendant is a part of the Wreck and Reef Collection a favorite amongst men anglers. These entire grouper collection is offered in 2 sizes Medium (46mm) and Large (58mm) with assorted shackle bale sizes to accommodate a variety of necklaces. The Nassau Grouper is a slow-moving fish that can grow up to 4 feet in length and weigh up to 55 pounds. The Nassau Grouper is usually dark brown or reddish-brown in color, with distinctive vertical bars on its sides that become less defined as the fish gets older and a black dot between the dorsal fin and tail.  These fish are primarily found around coral reefs and rocky areas, and are known to be territorial and solitary hunters, and have been recorded living for up to 29 years. The Nassau Grouper was once a common and important food fish in the Caribbean, but overfishing and habitat destruction have greatly reduced its populations and is now listed as Endangered by the International Union for Conservation
