DOT Requirements for Shipping Model 451P Pressurized Ion Chambers

If you perform any of the following activities, the Department of Transportation (DOT) considers you a HAZMAT employee who is required to receive and complete training: • Tests, reconditions, repairs, modifies, marks, or otherwise represents packaging as qualified for use in transportation of HAZMAT (such as a pressurized ion chamber) • Prepares HAZMAT for transportation (which includes placing the pressurized ion chamber in a package, labeling and marking a package, preparing shipping papers, providing emergency response information) • Is responsible for safety of transporting HAZMAT or operates a vehicle used to transport HAZMAT. This course is intended for workers who are involved in the shipment of pressurized ion chambers.
