He has taken painting lessons from two famous painters, Esref Uren and Osman Zeki Oral, when he was at high school. Afterwards, he graduated from the Painting segment of Gazi University. He worked as a graphic artist at International Exposition and Decoration Company (UFD) between 1983-1984. In 1985, he started working as a painter/illustrator at TRT. He made animations, paintings of stories and drew caricatures for the monthly TRT (Turkish National Television) magazine. Between 1990 and 2000, he created stamps for the PTT Stamp Management.
