Rock Hounding Unit Study!

Shortly after I pulled my kids from their school and in the middle of deschooling we were having a TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE NO GOOD VERY BAD DAY... Seriously - it was rough on all of us! My best friend happened to call and she was like "How's it going?" I said "Not good. I don't think I can do this, I've grounded everyone and I just ugh, I'm so over it." She didn't even skip a beat "Meet me at the creek." She said. So begrudgingly I gathered up my three boys and said "This play time does not get you out of trouble but we have to get out of this house!" The creek was exactly what we needed and all of the stresses slipped away including our frustrated and angry feelings. We spent the afternoon rock hounding. We found rocks, looked up rocks, found fossils and hiked around. It was perfection! I wanted to share what we found with you and your family and I added more activities across all ages! I think its important to think about different careers! Gone are the days of a kid growing up thinking t
