Sancerre is renowned for white wines from Sauvignon Blanc, but do NOT overlook this classic region's exceptional Pinot Noir rosé. Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy farm about 18 hectares of vines of both Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir in their little corner of Sancerre. Situated on the steep slopes of Maimbray, most of the vineyards rest on calcareous clay soils that are approximately 157 to 152 million years old, locally referred to as terre blanche or "white earth." A very elegant and light example of pink Sancerre, this has all the mineral beauty of the white wines, with an added bouquet of faint cherry blossom. Grape: Pinot Noir Pairing: Chêvre and tomato tartine Viticulture: Sustainable Soil: Chalky Kimmeridgian Marl
