Peter Veyder-Malberg is one the Wachau's low-key top-notch winemakers. He works quietly and diligently in his small cellar perched upon a picturesque slope in the town of Spitz.  Although his winemaking is considered 'hands-off,' every step of the winemaking process is given utmost attention to detail & it shows resulting in some of the region's most exquisite and mineral-driven expressions of Gruner & Riesling. 2021 was nothing short of an exceptional vintage, delivering wines of fine precision, intense mineral qualities, and impressive complexity.  Grapes: Riesling from Buschenberg** Pairings: Schnitzel, pork Soil: Mica schist bedrock and decomposed mica schist topsoil. Farming: Organic Certified  **Located within the commune of Weißenkirchen (but to the east and out of sight of the village), nearing the center of the Wachau river gorge, the extremely steep terraces of Buschenberg sit close to the Danube river and Peter’s parcel nears 350 meters of altitude.
