Slightly taller than tinctoria with larger pods, Baptisia sphaerocarpa is closely related to blue false indigo, yellow wild indigo also fixes nitrogen, making it a valuable asset for neighboring plants. Tolerates tough, dry conditions and loves sun, though it can withstand some partial shade. Over time, yellow wild indigo develops a bushy appearance, forming large bunches of bright yellow flowers in early summer. It grows a little shorter than blue false indigo at about 3 feet.
