Resembling stars in the dark, the flowers of Bigleaf aster stand out in the woodland garden during the fall, when most other shade plants are done flowering. Large, wide leaves make an excellent groundcover, suitable as a native replacement for hostas. Their flowers are an important source of nectar for pollinators. The seeds are also a tasty winter treat for birds, so consider waiting to cut them back until spring! Grows around 2 feet tall and prefers shade with dry to medium soils.  For more information please visit: https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?kempercode=h170
